RHEOSTATS
Rheostats are variable resistors commonly used in electrical circuits to control the flow of current by varying the resistance. They consist of a resistive element, typically made of a coil of wire or a carbon composition, with a movable contact (slider) that can be adjusted along the length of the resistor. By changing the position of the slider, the effective length of the resistive element in the circuit is altered, thereby changing the total resistance and controlling the current flow.
